Protecting Your Social Security Number

Individuals filing bankruptcy will place only the last four digits of their Social Security Number on the bankruptcy petition. Individual debtors are required to submit, with the bankruptcy petition, a separate Statement About Your Social Security Numbers (Form B121). This form will include the full Social Security Number of the debtor(s). The Statement About Your Social Security Numbers is not part of the public record and will not be available to the public. The responsibility for redacting personal identifiers rests solely with counsel and the parties. The Clerk will not review each document for compliance with this rule.
