Bankruptcy Case Records & Credit Reporting

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Bankruptcy filings are public records open to examination by law with few exceptions.  See 11 U.S.C. § 107; Fed. R. Bankr. P. 5003, 9037.  The bankruptcy court does not report or provide information to any consumer reporting agencies.  Moreover, the bankruptcy court is not responsible for verifying or validating information contained in consumers’ credit reports.  Regardless of the status or outcome of your case (i.e. open, closed, discharged, dismissed, etc.), the credit reporting agencies may include the case on your credit report for up to ten years.

To view bankruptcy case records,

  • Visit the clerk's office in Cheyenne, WY at 2120 Capitol Avenue, 6th Floor.
