Copy Requests for Restricted Documents on PACER

The Judicial Conference of the United States has restricted PACER access to documents in cases filed prior to December 1, 2003, and which have been closed for more than a year. While the docket sheet and docket information remains available to the general public via PACER, documents are not available to view or download. (Note: An exception to this is for any party that has filed a notice of appearance in a case, as they will still have CM/ECF access to all filings in that case).

If you wish to obtain copies of documents from such cases they may be made in person in the Clerk’s Office. The public is encouraged to use the Clerk’s Office public terminals in either our Cheyenne or Casper office to view/purchase copies of documents. The Clerk’s Office will not redact information. All applicable fees for copies will apply.

Furthermore, if you are unable to come into our offices then copies made from these restricted cases may be requested by phone. Any requests made by phone will include a search fee as well as the appropriate fee for number of copies printed. Fees for a phone request must be paid in advance and a stamped, self-addressed envelope must be provided unless copies are held for pick-up.

Please contact the Clerk’s Office for more information.
